Re-Open for Curbside!

Clifton Community Library
Curbside Re-opening Guide

We are re-opening for curbside service on Tuesday, July 28!  Below is everything you need to know about obtaining materials from the library.

How to order materials:

1. Log onto the library catalog at

At the top of the page, you will see a Log In link.  Click and use your library card number to log in.  Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

I Have 2020 Vision!

Have you heard that the library is hosting a community wide scavenger hunt this summer?  It runs from June 30 to August 31, and is free and open to everyone.

Follow this link to read the rules, see an example of what kinds of clues you'll be hunting for and learn about prizes!  We'll be offering prizes at three different local businesses this year (UB's, Todd's, and Stone Manor).

Form a team and get ready to have some fun!

Library Closed

The library is closed effective immediately until further notice.

The community center is also closed with the exception of the post office.

A full array of online materials and services are available.  Please join our Facebook page at for additional information and updates.

Try not to panic, stay home, stay healthy.  We are thinking of all our patrons and can't wait to see you again!

Corvid 19 Meeting

The Board of Trustees will meet this evening, Monday March 16, to discuss the library's scheduling moving forward during the Corvid 19 issue.  The meeting begins at 6PM in the library.

Dates Rescheduled

The Friends of the Library meeting scheduled for June 14th is now rescheduled to June 21 at 10:30AM.

The Narcan training originally scheduled for June 24 is now rescheduled for July 1 at 7pm in the community room.

Hot Spot Now Available at Newton Falls!

Thanks to a generous grant by the Foundation for Rural Service and in cooperation with SLIC and the Newton Falls Fire Department, Clifton Community Library has been able to install a wireless hotspot at the Newton Falls Fire Department.  This hotspot will provide totally free wireless internet access for one year for the residents of our area, complimenting the free WiFi we already offer at Cranberry Lake.

Visitors do not need a password to log in, simply open your computer or phone's WiFi menu and connect to "Library WiFi".  There is no time limit, and the WiFi is on 24/7.

Clifton Community Library Going Fine Free

The Board of Trustees and Library Director are pleased to announce that Clifton Community Library is going (mostly) fine free effective this month!

What this means for our community is that you will no longer receive a daily late fine on overdue items. We hope this will encourage our patrons to return to the library, despite past fines.

Of course, there are a few catches...

The fine-free policy is at the discretion of the director.  If borrowers have a past history of seriously overdue materials on multiple occasions, they will remain responsible for fines.

New Circulation Desk

Thanks to Roger Backus of Cranberry Lake, we have a beautiful new circulation desk!  When visitors enter the library, they will immediately be greeted by a staff member.  We are especially grateful to George Cherepon, Bill Griffin, and Butch Whitmore for helping move the desk over from Roger's workshop.  Our old circulation desk has gone to the Madrid Library.  You can see it in its new home here!
